Experience progress
Learning, changing, developing, training, teaching..... these are all activities where the aim is to find out about a subject that you know little about; or to understand something that is unclear; or to be able to do something that you can't quite do just yet. The objective is always progress.
In our vision, to achieve progress, it takes more than just attending a presentation in a classroom. Or reading a text on a web page. Research into the efficiency of various learning methods is conclusive. We remember only 10% of what we see or hear, but up to 75% of what we are doing.
Much knowledge is second-hand or indirect. You read, hear or see how others do something. But the most effective way to learn is doing it yourself, by experiencing the lessons yourself. And learning is more effective when the learning environment closely resembles the work situation.
For situations in which it is impossible or prohibitively expensive to learn in practice, simulations are an excellent tool. Suppose:
- You don't read a book about service, but instead you get to work to help customers. Not in the grim reality, but in a safe simulation environment.
- You will experience the pitfalls of project management, but will not be hampered by the risks.
- You really get to understand how dynamic and complex business management really is. Not by listening to other people's stories of their experience, but by being a manager yourself.
In our vision, the best way to ensure progress is experience. Hence our motto: Experience progress. This motto is central to all our solutions.
